In the summer of 2001, following the successful theatre tour in the spring, Trey hit the road for his first extended nation-wide solo tour with the quintet plus Ray Paczkowski on keys and Russell Remington on tenor sax and flute. In addition to premiering new songs like “Plasma”, arrangements of songs such as “Last Tube” were changed to reflect the expanded lineup. The septet played amphitheatres across the country, welcoming a handful of guests along the way including Mike Gordon, John Medeski and Carl “Gears” Gerhart who joined the horn section to mark the first appearance of the Giant Country Horns in ten years.
